Once again, for the third consecutive year, Tourism Atikokan and the Town of Atikokan are excited to be participating in the Ontario Ice Fishing Challenge held from February 1st-February 28th.
How does it work? Residents in Ontario can go online using the link provided below and sign up for the challenge under Atikokan. For adults and youth, the cost is $20 to enter.
Once you pay the fee, you’re ready to get out and fish this February. There is $8000 worth of cash prizes to win against others in Ontario, and there will be local prizes for just those from Atikokan to win that are put together by Tourism Atikokan.
It’s a great opportunity to get rewarded for going Ice Fishing this February as there are plenty of opportunities to win prizes. We encourage anyone who will be going fishing to enter since all you need is to get the longest fish of a species and $1000 cash will be yours. We’re lucky to have many lakes that are home to some of the biggest fish so some would say we have a competitive edge!

On Family Day weekend (February 18-20, 2023), there is free fishing in Ontario where residents don’t need a license to fish. This is a great opportunity to get out on the lake and hoist fish that you can use towards prizes in the event!
