Relieving Work- Related Stress with Humour

It’s no secret that 2+ years of the COVID-19 pandemic is leading to higher levels of employee burnout. This is confirmed in recently published reports and is something we are witnessing in our organization – both in staff and management. At CLA, we have undertaken several initiatives to address this issue with one being a workshop on June 28th. We’ve invited Judy Croon to come to Atikokan to speak about ‘Relieving Work-Related Stress with Humour’.

Knowing we can’t be the only organization in Atikokan experiencing employee burnout, Community Living Atikokan is happy to sponsor this event and we’re inviting you and your staff to join us for this 3-hour workshop free of charge. Judy is presenting the workshop from 9am – 12pm and repeating it from 2pm – 5pm.

Judy Croon is Canada’s Keynote Humourist. She is a comedian, motivational speaker (including Ted Talks), radio host, Second City stand up coach and author. She has worked with many celebrities including; John Cleese, Jon Stewart and Joan Rivers. Her specials have appeared on NBC, CBS, CTV and The Comedy Network. She is a co-author of ‘From the Stage to the Page: Life Lessons from Four Funny Ladies!”  Judy draws from her stand up and coaching experience to entertain, inform and inspire in her dynamic presentations and workshops.

Title of Workshop:
‘Relieving Work-Related Stress with Humour’

Overview of Presentation:
Stress is a major cause of most illnesses, and humour is an amazing way to relieve it – especially now. Harvard studies show that when you are stressed, your brain shrinks. However, when you laugh, you relax; and when you relax, you learn. This inspirational workshop explores seven stress-relieving ingredients during these challenging times: a positive attitude, perseverance, forgiveness, teamwork (Dealing with Difficult People), family and friends, healthy mental activity and healthy physical activity.

Objectives:
– How to cope with information overload
– How to appreciate the incredible medical benefits of humour
– How to Deal with Difficult People (People Who Aren’t As Perfect As Us)
– Discover how happiness is a mindset
– Increase your chances of surviving a heart attack by five times and increase your lifespan and quality of life by laughing
– Increase your brain’s reasoning and decision-making
– Learn the surprising key to motivation and the most important gift you can give your child

Judy is the creator/host of ‘Laughlines’ and ‘Stand Up For The Girls’ which have both helped raise over $650,000 for breast cancer research.
