The Perseid meteor shower peaks on August 12, with an average of 100 meteors an hour. Look northeast after dark. Find a comfortable spot. Turn off all sources of light and allow your eyes to adjust to the dark, which can take as long as an hour. The best view is from a dark-sky area like Quetico Park. If the weather does not cooperate, do not worry. The shower will continue all through next week.
