Indigenous People’s Day Celebration

You are invited! On Monday, June 21st, 2021 the Atikokan Native Friendship Centre will be hosting a celebration for National Indigenous People’s Day, along with our Annual General Meeting.

Our celebration will take place at 2:00 pm at Friendship Gardens (the fenced-in area at the end of Mackenzie Ave).

Our Annual General Meeting will take place after the celebration with dinner at 5:00 pm and our meeting beginning at 6:00 pm.

At the celebration, we will be having drumming, a sacred fire, a barbeque and bannock, face painting, cookies for sale, cultural teachings, face painting, and a merchandise and raffle table. You will need to bring your own chair. Masks will be mandatory, and we ask that everyone adhere to the 6-foot distance rules, as much as possible. Parking will be available at the Fellowship Church and accessible parking available at the former Clark St. school. Accessible washrooms will be available at the Fellowship church.

We invite you all to join us for this very special celebration in honour of Indigenous People’s Day, and we look forward to having the opportunity to see everyone!
